Notifications

The inbox behind the bell, push notifications and how to quiet each kind.

When someone cheers or comments on your activity, Sparta tells you about it twice: a row in the notification inbox and, if you allow it, a push notification on your phone.

The inbox

The Social tab has a bell with a badge showing how many notifications you haven’t read. Opening it lists who cheered and who commented, newest first. Tapping a notification opens the activity it’s about and you can mark everything read in one go.

You never get notified about your own actions on your own activity.

Push notifications

With notifications allowed on your phone, a cheer or comment also reaches your lock screen. Two switches in the app’s settings control it, one for AUUHs and one for comments, so you can keep comment pushes and silence the cheers or the other way around.

The switches govern delivery only. The inbox and its badge always get everything, so nothing is lost while a switch is off. Muted pushes aren’t replayed when you switch back on.
